Gene Optimization

Gene sequence is a key factor in the success of protein expression. The MaxCodon™ bioinformatics software developed by DetaiBio can effectively optimize the genes (such as mRNA structure, rare codon, ribosomal binding site, etc.).

Optimization of Expression Conditions

We optimize protein expression conditions, including temperature, inducer, OD and etc., leading higher cell culture density and protein expression in subsequent fermentation.


Depending on the different requirements of customers, DetaiBio provides normal fermentation and high-density fermentation. We optimize the fermentation process, including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, feeding mode and so on. In addition, fed-batch strategy is the most effective method to achieve a high yield for high-density fermentation.

Protein Purification

After obtaining a large amount of protein-expressing bacterial sludge, we can provide the corresponding protein purification service, among which a variety of protein purification methods are included to provide customers with the desired purity of the protein.

High-density Fermentation

The fed-batch strategy is an effective method to achieve high yield recombinant protein in high-density fermentation. The quality and productivity of cells can be maximized by adjusting the culture conditions, including temperature, PH value and the feed rate of culture and substrate.

Fed-batch Strategy

  1. Non-feedback control
    • Quantitative feeding: Batch feeding at a constant rate will often reduce the growth rate.
    • Feeding step by step: Feeding step by step and gradual feeding can ease the rate of production decline due to material consumption.
    • Exponential fed-batch cultivation: Constant specific growth rate is achieved by using exponential velocity for feeding.
  2. Indirect feedback control
    • Dissolved oxygen: With the consumption of substrate, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the fermentation tank increases, and the amount of oxygen in the feeding increases.
    • pH: As the reaction progresses, the substrate is consumed, the metabolite accumulates, and the pH increases, feeding is available.
    • Carbon dioxide release rate: Through detection, the utilization rate of the carbon source is roughly proportional to the consumption rate of carbon dioxide and a specific growth rate can be maintained by feeding.
    • Cell culture concentration: Cell concentration is measured by laser turbidimetry, and the rate of feeding is determined by cell culture concentration.
